Time-Saving DIY Beauty Hacks That Every Girl Needs to Know ...

Lindsey

If you're a girl on the run (or on a tight budget), then you're going to love these DIY beauty hacks. Sometimes we just don't have the time or money to invest in a $45 moisturizer or $35 eye pencil, but with a little ingenuity and products you most likely already have in your home, you can make your own. That's right, you can actually create your own beauty products, and no, we're not talking about some weird hippie granola deodorant. These DIY beauty hacks are the real deal:

1

DIY Lip Gloss

One of the first DIY beauty hacks you may not have known you can craft yourself is lip gloss. First, you're going to need some coconut oil and un-petroleum jelly. This is going to serve as the creamy, glossy base. Next, in order to create the pigment, you're going to grab (brace yourselves)...Crystal Light! Pick any flavor or shade you want, or even mix a few different flavors. Mix all of these ingredients together and you'll have a beautiful gloss that's good enough to eat!

2

DIY Nail Polish

Having trouble finding the right shade of nail polish? You can actually make your own by mixing clear nail polish with your favorite eye shadow color. Either mix crumbled eye shadow directly into the nail polish bottle or mix it yourself on a piece of wax paper so that you can continue using the same clear polish but with different shades of eye shadow.

3

DIY Bronzer

Combine cocoa powder and baby powder until you have achieved your desired shade of choice in a clean container. Brush it on with a fluffy makeup brush just as you normally would. The beauty (no pun intended) of coca powder is that it has a brown tint to it instead of the cheap, shimmery orange tints that many bronzers have. Not only will this look pretty, but it smells great, too! Remember to be light-handed with this, as you should with regular bronzer too.

4

DIY Hairspray

Ever been in a pinch for hairspray? All you need to do is boil chopped lemons in a saucepan of water, let cool, strain the seeds out, and transfer to a spray bottle. If you've ever put lemon juice in your hair in the summer to lighten it, you know that your hair has gotten stiff and sticky has a result. Well, that's why this spray works so well, because it acts just like a sticky spray. Be sure to wash your hair at the end of the day, though, because lemon can be pretty drying. As such, you should also only do this once in a blue moon.

5

DIY Cheek Stain

Combine 2 Tbsp olive oil, 1 Tbsp Honey, and 1 chopped beet (peeled) into a food processor. Make sure that the ingredients are mixed thoroughly, and apply the mixture lightly onto your cheeks. Not only does it leave it pretty color, but it's also really hydrating. Store the mixture in the fridge for a week or two when you're done.

DIY Hair Serum

Mix 4 ounces camellia oil, 1/2 ounce castor oil. 1/2 ounce unrefined avocado oil, and any essential oil of your choice for scent. Shake in a bottle, and lightly apply to damp hair to help tame frizz and fly-aways.

7

DIY Teeth Whitener

What's better than a pearly white smile? if you're worried about using harsh OTC whiteners or spending the money on a professional whitening treatment, then this is the recipe for you. Combine 1 Tbsp baking soda, 3-5 drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide, and 1 drop of mint extract (for scent). When this is mixed together, it forms a paste, which can be applied with a toothbrush once a week. Just be sure not to swallow the mixture!

Of course, high end or even drug store beauty products are ideal, but these DIY hacks are not only all-natural but also economical. Also, if you're totally out of something and don't have time to go to the store, these options will save you a little beauty heartache of going a day without your coveted products. Would you ever consider using an all-natural, homemade beauty product?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I think the baking soda breaks down the enamel that protects your teeth if it is used over time excessively, however if used only once a week it will be fine, especially if the water you drink contains fluorine (all scheme waters should). That's why the author of this article said to only use it once a week or less.

Wow these are great

Some of these DIY is doing too much!

I don't think putting honey on your face is such a good idea... Uhm... It's sticky, duh?

Honey is amazing for you skin! Yeah it's sticky but that doesn't make it bad for you! Mixing it with lemon juice and yogurt is one of the best home made face masks u can easily make!

Use hydrogen peroxide for your teeth only once a week at bed time for whitening
