8 Quickie DIY All-natural Beauty Products ...

DIY all-natural beauty products are my fave because they’re as natural as the name implies, but they’re also fun to make and can be great gifts for your friends and family. The one thing I hate about a lot of DIY recipes is that a lot of them have a gazillion steps and use rare ingredients that requires you walk to the end of the earth to get! I’m not afraid of a little elbow grease, but I don’t exactly have the time or money for some the super complicated projects. So, I went on a search for some quick and easy DIY beauty products that we can make and enjoy!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Refreshing Mint Hair Rinse

You’re going to love this DIY beauty recipe if you want to give your scalp a good wake-up call! This recipe uses mint tea to revitalize and refresh your scalp, and the apple cider vinegar can help eliminate dandruff as well as clean up any dirt or product buildup that can make your hair feel heavy and appear dull. If you’ve never tried ACV, it’s pretty pungent, but it works wonders so don’t let the smell stop ya!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup boiling water
1-2 mint tea bags
2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
Directions:
Pour the boiling water over the tea bag and let it steep until cool. Remove the tea bag, pressing it to extract as much tea as possible and then stir in the vinegar.

To use, shampoo and condition your hair as usual, then apply the entire mixture to your hair. Massage it into your scalp and work it through your hair, then dry your hair as you normally would, without rinsing it out.

DIY Body Sugaring

This is a DIY all-natural beauty product that I’ve wanted to try for awhile. I’m always interested in different methods of hair removal because the epilator isn’t always as quick and painless as I’d like and razors can sometimes irritate the heck out of my skin. Body sugaring is all-natural and with just a few ingredients and a candy thermometer, you can sugar wax your skin at home anytime!
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
Juice from one half lemon (freshly squeezed)
Directions:
Before getting started: Wash skin well with soap and water, removing all traces of body oil, makeup, deodorant and dirt. Pat dry.

Mix ingredients in a large glass bowl then heat in the microwave for two minutes, stopping every 20 to 30 seconds to stir. Once it’s finished cooking, allow to cool down a bit before pouring into a glass canning jar and letting it rest until it’s at room temperature.
How To Apply:
Lightly dust the skin surface with cornstarch and rub it in. Lightly is key, this will help protect the skin a bit so the paste doesn’t stick to it as much (helping lessen the pain).

Using the popsicle sticks, slather a thin layer on your skin in the direction of the hair growth then cover with cotton strips (do in batches of 3 or 4 until the entire area is covered). Rub the fabric a few times firmly (in the direction of the hair growth).

Let it sit for about a minute then pull your skin tight with one hand and rip each strip off quickly with the other (in the opposite direction of the hair growth). Reapply paste as needed (you can reheat if it gets too cool).

Lemon Sugar Hand and Foot Scrub

One of the best things about DIY beauty is that you know exactly what goes into the product that you’re making. These days, there are so many questionable and scary ingredients out there in what we thought to be an all-natural product. This hand and foot scrub smells divine and helps cleanse, moisturize and rid your appendages of dead skin.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup granulated sugar—raw or brown sugar with larger granules works too
2 tablespoons almond oil (you can also substitute apricot, olive, or jojoba oi)
Juice of half a lemon
OPTIONAL: 3 drops lavender, mint, or rosemary essential oil
This easy-to-make scrub is perfect for tired hands, feet, elbows, and even knees. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients in no particular order and immediately massage the mixture onto hands or feet. You can add a few drops of lavender, mint, or rosemary oil to invigorate and refresh. Rinse off with warm water, then slather on your favorite lotion for extra moisture.

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Oh Sugar Pie Honey Bunch Facial

This is one of those DIY beauty recipes that sound just as good as they work! According to the beauty cook Karly Goins, the honey and milk in the recipe make this concoction antibacterial and moisturizing. She also says that although it’s mildly exfoliating as is, you can turn it into more of a coarse scrub if you add more brown sugar. Warm this up in the microwave for a warm and creamy treat for your skin!

Ingredients:
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of honey
1 tbsp. of milk (the higher the fat percentage, the better)
Directions:
Pour sugar into a bowl, slowly stirring in the honey, and add quantity of milk desired (the more milk the looser the consistency).

Pat mixture onto skin (avoiding eye area, it makes eyelashes sticky and the sugar is harsh on delicate skin). Leave on for 10-20 minutes (whatever you like best and have time for) this mask will not dry on your skin or become tight or hard, it will stay moist and sticky, I suggest wearing an old t-shirt while wearing this in case of any "sticky situations."

Rinse the mixture off with lukewarm water; you may use a wash cloth or facial cleansing brush to assist you if you like, but make sure to clean extra well around your hairline or some of the honey might dry in hard sticky clumps. Eew no thank you!

I also like to soak cotton pads/rounds in some of the same type of milk I added into the mixture, I put on some relaxing music, and lay on m bed for 5 minutes with the pads/rounds layer on my face! The lactic acid from the milk will help to slough away dead skin, while the fats & proteins in the milk help to strengthen and plump the skin.

Then rinse, apply moisturizer (don't forget to put one on that has SPF if you're going out in the sun after this facial!), Look at yourself in the mirror and SMILE! You are beautiful, and now you're soft, glowy, clean skin is a little bit more beautiful too!
