9 Beauty Bargains to Pass on ...

We always hear so much about the virtues of beauty bargains and how effective they are but are they really all great deals? Clearly there are awesome bargain beauty brands out there that consistently deliver quality products at a great price. But what I’m talking about are those cheap beauty products that aren’t even worth their discounted price. If you want the facts on which drugstore beauty products to pass on, keep reading!

Milani XL All over Glow Bronzer

Milani XL All over Glow Bronzer This is one of the beauty bargains that I really wanted to like. Milani calls this “a-tan-in-a-pan for all skin types” but it was more like pressed chalk. This 2-in-1 pan combines a bronzer and shimmer in a big ‘ol compact and while it looks pretty, it’s really sheer and really chalky. It was a huge disappointment and even under $10 it’s still a waste of your hard earned cash!

Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Concealer

Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Concealer Physicians Formula made this list of worst drugstore makeup with their Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Concealer. Have you ever seen this thing? It looks cool and all, you have a cream concealer with a sponge-tip applicator for light coverage and a stick concealer for heavier coverage plus a rollerball to blend it. The rollerball is hard plastic and not ideal to blend anything! Aside from offering a limited selection of colors (light + light and light + yellow), it also claims to make you look up to ten years younger, um, yeah.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Liner Eyeliner Pencil

Wet N Wild Color Icon Liner Eyeliner Pencil Another beauty bargain that’s not worth it is Wet n Wild’s eyeliner pencil. These guys look like a great deal, they’re long, cheap and come in lots of fun colors but sadly they’re a dud. I’ve heard some people profess their love for these eyeliners and say that they’re the best thing since William Levy. I’m wondering if it maybe depends on the skin around your eye. These liners are hard, causing you to tug the sensitive skin around your eye and they hardly leave any color behind!

3

L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara

L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara I get that this next beauty bargain is meant to be a cheaper alternative to Givenchy’s Phenomen’eyes but it’s another flop! Most of the time beauty product dupes are pretty similar in appearance and purpose but in this case, L’Oreal was way off. Not only is the applicator starkly different from its higher-end counterpart, which makes all the difference in the look, it is hard to use and did the opposite of what it purported to do!

4

Milani Infinite Liquid Eyeliner

Milani Infinite Liquid Eyeliner Milani happened to make this list of beauty letdowns twice but I swear I’m not picking on them! Their Infinite Liquid Eyeliner does have some redeeming qualities like being compact and super pigmented but its cons outweighed the positives. Due to its small size, this liner is convenient to carry but inconvenient to apply. It also has a super thick and clumpy consistency which is odd for a liquid eyeliner but it also made it near impossible to get a clean line!

Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Plumping Treatment

Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Plumping Treatment This beauty bargain claims to enhance your lips’ natural color and shape and give you a sexy pout. In my experience, there hasn’t been a drugstore brand of lip plumpers or enhancers that did anything significant to the lips and this one falls in that category. Sure, it might seem like a cheaper alternative to Juvaderm but this works the same as any other goopy, short-lived lip gloss!

6

N.Y.C. New York Color Roll-on Lipgloss

N.Y.C. New York Color Roll-on Lipgloss N.Y.C. gets kudos for cute packaging of their roll-on gloss but also earns recognition for being one the bargain beauty letdowns. This lip gloss reminds me of my childhood and maybe it should stay in the distant past because it’s super sticky, stinky and one unlucky lady reported getting acne where the gloss happened to touch her skin!

7

Almay Intense I-Color Smoky-i Powder Shadow Palette

Almay Intense I-Color Smoky-i Powder Shadow Palette Pass on this beauty bargain the next time you’re cruising your drugstore beauty aisle. This eye shadow which claims to deliver a mistake-proof smoky eye with intense color yet it fails to even deliver even a trace of color! Many users claim that this product was terribly sheer and hard to get on the applicator. For that much trouble and lack of pigment, Almay should be paying you to use it!

8

Covergirl Outlast Lipstain

Covergirl Outlast Lipstain I’m not a huge fan of lipstains but I would’ve never guessed that this bargain beauty product would end up on this list of beauty letdowns. I was always under the impression that everyone was mad about this product but boy was I wrong! Many girls have reported that this lipstain is drying, streaky and the actual shade differs greatly from how it looks in the tube to how it looks on your lips. If your lips are so dry that you have to apply another product on top, it’s so not worth it!

9

Wet N Wild Intuitive Blend Shade-Adjusting Foundation + Primer

Wet N Wild Intuitive Blend Shade-Adjusting Foundation + Primer This is one of the products that I suspected to be one of the beauty letdowns. Wet n Wild makes some great stuff at really great prices but when you get foundation at such a low price, you’ve gotta wonder if it’ll even be worth the few dollars. People say there is this foundation and primer combo is far from intuitive! Runny, streaky, bad coverage and some even chimed in to say that as runny as it is, it turns chalky and flaky after a few hours!

Have you tried any of these beauty bargains that failed to deliver? I know that we all like different products and what works great for some is a total miss for others. While the drugstore is an excellent way to get our beauty fix on a budget, make sure you’re getting your money’s worth-no matter how inexpensive the product is! What are some of your worst bargain beauty product experiences?

Actually I like the Almay smokey eye kit. I use my own brushes and the colors worked well for me!

The cover girl outlast lip stain is great to use as a lip liner instead of a dry pencil. It glides on easily

I love the roll on gloss being featured. I remember those being so cool when I was little, girls layering it on so thick it looked like they smeared grease on their mouths!

Im indian my skin ton in litle dark not somuch..can u suggest me what type of coloure of clothes, lips and eye shadow will suit on me .plz suggest...

I tried using the wet n wild foundation. As soon as I put it on I knew it wasn't going to work. The foundation actually made me look like I had Jaundice! Not a fan!

The L'Oreal telescope mascara works fantastically for me, but you were spot on for everything else!:)
