Retro Red…

Some people rock this look all year round, but if you aren’t one of them, it’s something you’ll love for 2013. Jessica Chastain looked amazing in a nude Armani dress, retro waves and bright red lips, and her look is oh-so-easy to copy. If you don’t have any ball gown-ready events coming up, try wearing them with a nude blouse or shift dress instead. If you aren’t sure which red is best for you, visit a make-up counter, and let the staff help you find your perfect shade. This is one of the Oscars inspired beauty tips that'll live long into the Autumn!

Edgy Dye…

It’s always a bit scary braving the outside world with visible roots, but it seems it’s a great look for celebrities this year! Charlize Theron rocked a blonde pixie cut with visible roots, and Miley Cyrus quickly followed suit. Since then, they’ve been everywhere! Keep them edgy by teaming them with flawless (BB creamed!) skin, and sleek, modern outfits. I loved Charlize’s white Dior Couture gown, with its geometric, symmetrical design.

3

Simple Hair Jewelry…

I loved Sandra Bullock’s look this year. Her jeweled Elie Saab dress looked stunning, and her shiny, centre-parted hair was beach-fresh and very easy to copy. Sooty eyes and nude lips are an effortless choice for every occasion this spring – but the thing I really loved? The gorgeous little jeweled barrette. Sandra’s was worn just above the ear, but you can use them in a whole variety of places and styles, and they add a chic feel to any outfit. Barettes aren’t just for children anymore – get raiding the shops!

4

Bright Eyes…

The cat-eye look was a popular one at the Oscars, with Zoe Saldana being the first to sport the stunning look. It was Amanda Seyfried’s that I really loved, though – not only did she perfect the flawless cat eye, but she updated the look by using metallic purple rather than a sooty dark shade. Blend it well, and keep lips nude. This is one eye look that definitely does all the talking.

5

Pastel Clashes…

Kelly Osbourne’s hair regularly divides critics, with some loving her bold lilac locks, and others slating them. It’s no secret that Kelly adores them, though, and I loved the bold coral lipstick she teamed them with on the big night – pastel is set to be a huge trend, and clashing colors looks great when they're pulled off right! Her stunning gown added a touch of Hollywood glamor to her look, making it just perfect for the occasion.

Highlights…

Think highlights are reserved for adding that sun-kissed look to longer hair? Think again. Halle Berry gave her famous short cut a modern twist by adding lighter highlights and styling it boldly, teaming with a classic smokey eye and light pink lip. It wasn’t just her hair that everyone admired, either – Halle also showed off her amazing figure in a very low cut, metallic striped Versace. Just add blusher for this bold style!

Understated…

Need a look that’s as great for work? Amy Adams has you covered. Her pale skin and delicate red hair looks amazing teamed with understated make-up, and Amy’s silvery-lavendar eyeshadow is ideal. Just add a messy up-do, light mascara and lipgloss for a look that’s wearable every day, and really shows off that Spring beauty.

Day after…

My favorite low maintainence Oscars inspired beauty tip came a la Kristen Stewart – who arrived on crutches, but still in a gorgeous Reem Acra gown! Bronze and gold make great alternatives to the classic black and gray smokey eyes, and I love the pearly pink lipstick she chose. Her casual textured blow dry adds the ideal finishing touch, making the look casual yet beautiful. Top marks, Kristen!

I can’t wait to try some of these Oscars inspired beauty tips – Spring weddings and get togethers are the perfect opportunities! Pick your favorite and give it a try – and don’t be afraid to add your own twist to the looks, too. Bold often equals beautiful! Which of these looks are you most excited about? Let me know!
