How to Stay Stylish While Camping in the Wild ...

By Eliza9 Comments

I love camping, but I usually don’t look my best while I’m roughing it. I tend to leave the make-up at home and wear clothes I’m not worried about ruining. Whether you’ve been camping your entire life or this will be your first time, you don’t have to look your worst. There are some easy things you can do to stay looking your fabulous best even if you are spending your nights around a campfire and your days hiking in the woods.

1 Wear Cute Exercise Gear with Stylish Running Shoes

You’ll be comfortable for lounging and hiking in your workout wear and your tennis shoes will protect your feet from thorns and prickles. Choose dark colors so that dirt and grime don’t show and don’t wear your brand new expensive gear because there is a chance that it won’t come back looking so pristine. Matching sets are ideal because you’ll feel more like yourself if you coordinate.

Frequently asked questions

2 Bring along a Bottle of Dry Shampoo

Many campsites don’t have showers, which means you’ll be going a day or more without being able to wash your hair. If you pack a good quality dry shampoo, you can likely get by without sudsing up if you have to. Sprinkle the product in and massage it gently throughout your strands. This will soak up excess grease and make it look like you just washed and rinsed.

3 Wear Waterproof Mascara and Reapply Every Morning

There’s no reason why you can’t wear make-up at your campsite. I’d definitely recommend waterproof mascara because it will stay in place much better if you sweat or get rained on. Remove nightly and reapply in the morning to prevent infections in your eyes.

4 Slather on the SPF Every 90 Minutes

Keep your skin looking young and dewy by wearing sunscreen throughout your entire camping trip. You need to put it on as soon as you get up in the morning and reapply every 90 minutes or so. This will prevent a sunburn and leave you looking stylish and put together even when you get back. If you swim or get rained on, put on more sunscreen, even if it hasn’t been 90 minutes yet.

5 Wear Sweet Smelling Bug Repellant

You wouldn’t wear DEET to the office, right? If you want to preserve your everyday image while you’re camping, choose a girly scented bug spray. You won’t have to worry about bites, but you’ll still smell like a girl should. Look for floral scented products. Lemon and eucalyptus are other good choices.

6 Slide on a Trendy Pair of Sunglasses

This serves two purposes. First, it protects your eyes and skin around them from damaging sun rays. Second, you can totally hide the fact that you aren’t wearing any make-up. Look for a pair that offers 100% UVA and UVB protection and wear them to add style and pizazz to all your camping outfits.

7 Wear an Adorable Hat for Everything

Whether you’re roasting marshmallows or hiking a nearby trail, wear a cute hat. This will keep the sun off your face and you can keep messy hair under wraps. There are tons of adorable options out there, so don’t worry that you won’t look stylish with a hat on your head.
