Natural beauty ingredients can help bring out the naturally beautiful you. I personally do not like reading through the list on a product only to find a chemical that we frequently call dangerous in organic chemistry. That scares me a bit. I love knowing the ingredients in my products. It helps me feel empowered. Take a look at these natural beauty ingredients and see what you can try next.
1 Coconut Oil/Milk
Coconut oil is the first of the natural beauty ingredients because it is not only popular, but it also has so many uses! I use coconut oil immediately after I shower to seal in the moisture of my skin. It helps keep my skin super hydrated all day long, and you only need a really small amount. I also use coconut oil in my hair. Not only do is smell great, but it works to seal in moisture and keep my hair soft too. The best thing about coconut oil is that the scent is easy to cover up if you want to wear a pretty perfume later on.
I used to hate eating oatmeal a kid, but I loved playing with it. As a teen, I struggled with acne problems. I use to make all sorts of DIY face masks and face washes to ease the struggle of dealing with acne. Acne is an inflammatory condition. Meaning it shows symptoms wear skin becomes swollen and redden. Oatmeal is super soothing when used as a face mask. Also, it make a great exfoliating body scrub.
This starch friend is a surprise to see on a natural beauty ingredient list, right? Potatoes are actually pretty useful in the beauty department. Slice one in half, and you are ready to go. You can use it as a skin-brightening scrub for your face. Just use olive oil or another oil with a thick consistency, you are ready to go.
These are definitely a personal favorite ingredient of mine. Avocados are such a healthy fat. I love to use them in my hair treatments. For a protein treatment, I cut the avocados in to small pieces and leave the huge seed out. Then, I blend the avocados into a smooth texture. Next, I add in a egg and continue to blend the mix. Soon, I have this thick green goop. Lastly, I add in honey and stir them together. I comb this mixture throughout my hair. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and wash it out followed by shampoo and conditioner. Afterwards, my hair feels noticeably stronger.
5 Brown Sugar
When you by one of those body scrubs from the store, doesn’t the scrub look like sugar crystals in a bunch of goop? Well, instead of playing around with potentially dangerous ingredients, I encourage you to mix up your own scrub. Brown sugar is an excellent ingredients to use. It is coarse enough to act as an exfoliator. I just suggest that you be gentle when using the scrub on you face.
Personally, I do not like the smell of bananas. However, they are such a great fruit to use in beauty. They provide such a soothing and moisturizing element to face mask, so add them right in. For dry hair, mix a bit with avocado and feel your hair come back to life after your deep treatment.
7 Shea Butter
Shea butter is one of my personal favorite natural butters. Wouldn’t it make more sense to use a natural butter in your body butter? Add in cocoa butter and essential oils to make your own custom body butter. You skin will thank you.
