7 Natural Ways to Combat Wrinkles without Resorting to Botox or Surgery ...

There’s no need to turn to the needle as one of the first ways to combat wrinkles. I think if a woman wants to get Botox, that’s her prerogative, yet first, make sure you’re trying the natural stuff first. I can attest to the fact that my skin looks younger now at 28 than it did when I was 16, and I’m not even kidding. I stayed in the tanning bed, ate terrible, wasn’t getting enough nutrients and didn’t take care of my body. Now, I know better and use my favorite ways to combat wrinkles below to stay youthful naturally. When using natural approaches, you’ll age better, reduce your fine lines and wrinkles, and you’ll be happier and healthier too!

Eat Your Vitamin a

Eating Vitamin A rich foods is one of the best ways to combat wrinkles and even acne. Vitamin A is found in foods in the form of beta-carotene. You’ll find this beauty vitamin in fruits and veggies such as carrots, winter squash, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and cantaloupe. You’ll also find it in leafy greens in high amounts such as spinach, kale, collards, chard, wheatgrass, and romaine lettuce. Beta carotene in the form of Vitamin A will give your skin a healthy glow, and help reduce fine lines. It fights off inflammation and free radicals in the body to keep your skin looking vibrant, young and blemish and wrinkle-free! While you’re at it, be sure to get enough Vitamin C too! It’s great for your skin and found in most all fruits and veggies!

2

Get Glowing with Greens

Greens contain Vitamin A, but they also contain other nutrients that fight off wrinkles. Greens contain chlorophyll, which is the best nutrient you can ever put in your body. Chlorophyll is the green pigment that you find in plants, and is derived from the sun. It is the most detoxifying nutrient, most beautifying nutrient, and most energizing nutrient of all, and leafy greens are the best source. Juice your greens, blend your greens and of course, eat your greens! Either way, leafy greens will reduce fine lines, improve skin appearance, eliminate acne, and help your entire body feel more alive and well. Leafy greens also contain fiber to keep your digestive system working top notch as well.

3

Use Coconut Oil around Your Eyes

Instead of using expensive anti-wrinkle creams around your eyes, try just using raw organic coconut oil! Coconut oil’s fatty acids are amazing for your skin, especially the skin around your eyes. It helps to not only lubricate the skin, but can fight off wrinkles from developing overtime. Most people notice their skin improves greatly after adding coconut oil to their beauty routine. It tends to break the rest of my face out, so I only use it around my eyes and use a moisturizer with sunscreen on the rest of my face. As a bonus, coconut oil is also a great lip balm replacement that smells yummy too!

4

Eat Enough Healthy Fats

Don’t go on a low-fat diet and expect to be wrinkle- free. You don’t need to overdose on fat, but you also need to eat a little healthy fats each day for optimal skin appearance. Keep sources of fat to whole foods instead of oils for the healthiest options. I prefer sources such as avocados, almonds, walnuts, hemp seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, unsweetened coconut, and pure dark cacao ( chocolate). Wild fish is also another great source if from a reliable source and certified to be safe. Great choices are trout, salmon and halibut.

5

Get Clean Sources of Protein into Your Diet

Protein is essential for your skin. I don’t believe it is necessary to go protein-crazy, but you should include a little each time you eat. Aside from the blood sugar benefits protein offers that keeps your insulin levels stable that help to keep you full, protein also increases the collagen production in your body. Collagen is the elastic proteins in the skin that help keep your skin firm, strong, and wrinkle-free. It also helps to soften the skin and prevent fine lines. Collagen is made from protein, and you need to get your protein from as many plant sources first, before turning to animal proteins which can age the skin faster. Great sources of plant protein include spinach, kale, almonds, hemp seeds, chia seeds, legumes and beans if you tolerate them ( I don’t), and spirulina. Good animal sources include wild Alaskan fish, or other wild fish, pastured eggs in moderation, and organic non-fat plain Greek yogurt in moderation.

Supplement with Spirulina

Spirulina is a deep sea algae that is extremely high in protein with 4 grams per tablespoon, and it is very high in chlorophyll, iron, Vitamin A, and Vitamin B12. It is one of the best foods to eat for your skin. Since it is a deep green color, it can turn some people off due to the color and smell. You can buy it as a tablet or a powder, and I have used both. Use the powder in a smoothie or mix into a juice, or take a tablet. You’ll highly benefit in many ways from using spirulina. It isn’t only a beauty aid, but great for nourishing the body, eliminating sugar cravings, reducing headaches and fatigue, enhancing mental clarity and is so fantastic for your entire range of health.

Get Enough Sleep

Lastly, to prevent getting fine lines, your body needs sleep. Your skin sheds its skin cells and repairs itself overnight to give you new skin cells. This helps you not only look younger, but also have less wrinkles. You’ll look refreshed and radiant, not stressed and tired. Get 7-8 hours sleep, no matter what. They don’t call it beauty rest for no reason girls!

It’s also never a bad idea to exercise, which can reduce the signs of aging, but be sure to rest appropriately after to recover. I also recommend stress-reducing activities such as yoga that will relieve stress that leads to aging and wrinkles. If you have a natural remedy to fight wrinkles, I want to hear it! What’s your skin secret to prevent fine lines and wrinkles?

Yes sunscreen must be applied even in winter And my tip is use almond oil under the eye

I make sure to apply sunscreen every single time I step outside of the house. Regardless, the weather condition. If I'm outside, I make sure to apply sunscreen.
