1

Absorption

One of the top reasons to use organic beauty products is that your skin absorbs a lot of the ingredients from your beauty products. It's often overlooked that the skin is our largest organ, so we should be more conscious of what we're putting into it. Instead, we only think about what effect the product is having on the surface of our skin. It's time we gave some thought to what's going on underneath as well!

2

Sensitive Skin

People with sensitive skin often find that they get on much better with organic products. Sensitive skin can react very easily, and it's difficult to find products that don't cause you problems. Switch to organic skincare and beauty, and you may find that your sensitive skin is much happier.

3

Environment

It's not just your skin that will benefit from you using organic beauty products. They're better for the environment as well. Chemicals have a detrimental effect on the environment, both through farming methods and through ending up in the water supply and the soil. Companies that produce organic products are much more concerned with sourcing ingredients that cause no harm to the environment (as well as your skin).

4

Better Ingredients

Another good thing about organic beauty products is that they use higher-quality ingredients. These are far less likely to cause any irritation to your skin than cheaper, synthetic ingredients. If you care about what you put into your body and try to eat organic food wherever possible, then why not pay the same attention to what you put into your skin?

5

Fragrance

If fragrance is listed in the ingredients of a product, you have no idea what that fragrance is made up of. It could be any number of ingredients. Organic beauty products will list the individual ingredients in the fragrance so that you know exactly what you are putting on your skin.

Safer

Skincare products and makeup aren't subject to the same rigorous demands placed on food products. So scarily enough we could be exposed to some potentially unsafe ingredients. By using organic products, you are limiting your exposure to these harmful ingredients.

7

Avoid the 'Nasties'

By opting for organic skincare, you can avoid such nasty ingredients as SLS, parabens and formaldehyde. These are known to provoke reactions in some people (I'm allergic to formaldehyde and find that SLS irritates my skin as well). I've had much better results from using an organic hand cream; using non-organic creams doesn't feel as good and can irritate my skin.

So you can see that there are many excellent arguments in favor of buying organic beauty products. You could find that it helps any skin problems you may have, and you'll know that you're doing the best for your skin. Do you think organic food and products are too expensive?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Yes organic products are more expensive. But is the cost worth it? Absolutely.

"organic" means nothing. Same with "natural". There's no labeling rules in cosmetics, so 90% of "natural" and "organic" lines are just labeling their product because it's trendy to be natural. But everything is natural and they have the same natural chemicals that everything else has. Just because it's labeled as a chemical doesn't mean it's bad. Like chemical exfoliating products have a form of AHA or BHA in it, which are acidic chemicals. But they are naturally found on earth, one being in pineapple enzymes. Just because they stick the word natural or organic on it doesn't mean it's any better than the cheaper alternative. You're just paying for a word on the label, not for an actual better substance.
