Lea T is a Brazilian model who is breaking some serious fashion industry barriers. The transgender advocate will represent Redken's Chromatics hair color line and is one of the first transgender models to score such a big beauty deal!
"My mum has beautiful hair, and when I was young, I was so envious of it," she said. "Hair is so important for a woman, and I'm so lucky [mine] is natural, strong, and shiny." Lea T, who's actually the former assistant of Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy, has starred in various Givenchy print campaigns and even landed the cover of Love magazine with Kate Moss.
"I love working with Redken because they appreciate all kinds of beauty," she said. "They believe in the individuality of the person, and I think that's really important."
It's great to see that the fashion industry is finally being more open-minded about who they hire!
