Mind-Blowing Ways to De-Stress to Look and Feel Younger ...

As women, we're all looking for ways to de-stress and look and feel younger.

Stop! Look in the mirror! What do you see? Really, what do you see first thing in the morning versus, mid-day, versus before going to bed? Do you look tired when you wake up, as well as when you got to bed and sometimes maybe even in between? I know the bags under my eyes looked like they could hold groceries on some days, even when I was too young to have them. Now I’m facing 50 per the age reflected on my birth certificate, but that is not what I see at all when l look at myself. I see a much younger woman. My secret? Stop the stress!

Stress is a real problem, both mentally and physically, and can affect us in so many ways and even more so as we age, due to changes in our hormones and body makeup. All we can do to help ourselves is learn to manage and control the stress we are going to encounter all of our lives. If you can incorporate these five daily ways to de-stress and look and feel younger, you will definitely start to look and feel younger too.

Eat More Fruits an Vegetables

Eating more fruits and vegetables is one of the best ways to de-stress and look and feel younger. Believe it or not, natural organic choices are uppers and our bodies need them daily, even if it means just eating one banana to get some potassium flowing. You may think a chocolate shake is going to make you feel better, but all it will make you do is crash and this can make you irritable, especially if you tend to have sleep issues. So instead of stopping at your favorite ice cream shop, go home and make yourself a smoothie in the blender. That way, you can control what goes into it. My favorite homemade smoothie recipe is simple, one nonfat Greek vanilla yogurt, a cup of coconut milk, a banana, some fresh strawberries or blueberries, and some ice. Done in minutes, it's refreshing and full of vitamins and energy to help you get going and battle stress all day long.

Take Care of Your Face

Washing and moisturizing your face at all ages is a necessity. Yes, it's such a simple beauty secret, yet it's consistently ignored. Stress affects your skin because it dehydrates you. Since your body is made up of mostly water, moisturizer replaces some of the moisture our skin naturally loses. The more you stress, the more you sweat, and the more your skin needs to be refreshed. Even if you are young and have acne or oily skin, find the right facial soap and moisturizer that works for you and use it daily. For under your eyes, use coconut oil to remove eye makeup. It not only serves as a cleanser but as an extra moisturizer that helps to reduce the size of your grocery bags.

3

Walk More

Walk a few mores steps every day. Of course, most people will tell you to exercise and while I totally recommend doing that, it may not be that easy to do daily. Make sure you park your car a few more steps away at the grocery store or choose to take the stairs over the escalator or elevator at your office. These extra steps build up and can help you battle daily stress and look younger at the same time.

4

Drink More Water

Drink water or choose herbal tea over caffeinated or sugary drinks. You may think you need a boost, but coffee or soda will only dehydrate you and make you more tired. Since we are made up of water, we need to replenish that water daily. Sip plain water or add fruits and veggies to give it a yummy taste. Unsweetened tea also counts so brew a cup and sip all stress away.

5

Nurture Your Happiness

Do small things that make you happy every day. I meditate or dance to music. Even if you can only manage it for five minutes, it will have benefits. You might also splurge and have a glass of wine with dinner. Choose something that will ease your stress and make your day a happy one.

Look in the mirror again. Do you see a younger you? I bet you do. I know when I look in the mirror I don’t see fifty and fatigued anymore, I see fifty and fabulous!

I got a weighted blanket 👍

Sorry to hear that I used to as well, if you can’t shake it on your own you may want to talk to a doctor, for me I found out my cortisol is very low and that is the hormone that controls stress

I get anxiety over littlest things
