1. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize
Regardless of your age, this is one of the surefire ways to get prettier while you sleep. Use an anti-aging night cream, preferably one that contains hyaluronic acid. It draws water into the skin and smooths wrinkles. Don’t forget to moisturize your hands and other dry areas, too! Also, try to put on some lip balm so you won’t wake up with dry and cracked lips.
2. Sleep on Your Back
When you sleep on one side, you can get more set-in wrinkles on that particular side. Sleeping on your back can help keep wrinkles at bay! If you get puffy eyes in the morning, try an extra pillow. For some people, sleeping with one pillow can cause fluid to gather around their eyes.

3. Sleep on Clean Satin or Silk Pillowcases
Always wash your pillowcases frequently! If possible, try to get silk or satin pillowcases. These materials cause less friction between your skin and the pillowcase. Also, silk or satin pillowcases create fewer creases in your skin!
4. Humidifier
I’m sure you all know that water is really good for your skin. Since you can’t drink water in your sleep, try using a humidifier to keep yourself hydrated at night. I find this to be especially useful during the winter, since my skin gets a lot drier.
5. Food No-nos
As hard as it may be, stay away from alcohol and super-salty foods around bedtime. Alcohol dehydrates your body and salty foods make you puffy. If you must consume either, try sleeping with an extra pillow, as mentioned above.
6. Wear Your Hair up
I always sleep with my hair up, even though I dread the mess that always happens the next morning. I do it because it keeps its oils from getting onto my face. Plus, if you use leave-in conditioner, it’s good to keep that stuff off of your face. Just make sure that your hair isn’t super tight! Loose and high ponytails are ideal!
7. Clean Your Face
Not taking off your makeup before sleep can cause pore-clogging, and we all know what that means: breakouts. No one likes those! If you have the bad habit of just going to bed with your makeup on, try stashing a pack of makeup remover wipes next to your bed. It’s so much easier to just swipe it off and then hit the hay! This isn’t the best thing for your skin, but it’s better than going to bed with a full face of makeup!
I love the idea of getting my beauty sleep and waking up feeling prettier! A lot of these tips have helped me, and I hope they help you, too! Plus, many of them require little to no effort, so why not give them a shot? Have you ever tried any of these? What else do you recommend?
