7 Beauty Products You're Better off Buying Generic ...

Do you ever buy generic beauty products are you loyal to brand name products? Off-brand beauty products might seem less appealing since they don’t come in cute packaging and have all the extras that brand name products do but don’t write them off just yet! Many beauty products contain the same ingredients even though they are marketed differently so it’s worth it to look into the generic formula because it could be a replica at a much lower cost!

1

Eye Makeup Remover

This is definitely a generic beauty product you can buy and feel good about! Eye makeup remover is one of the products that contain most of the same ingredients as their brand name counterpart. If you’re still unsure, check out the list of ingredients in both products and test it out. Many drug stores offer a flexible return policy so you can always return it if it doesn’t work out.

2

Facial Scrubs

Normally, I wouldn’t recommend buying generic beauty products for your face since you want to be careful with what you put on your skin but most experts will agree that something like a facial scrub that washes off and doesn’t stay on your face is a great value if you get the store brand compared to the brand name. Again, compare ingredients and see for yourself!

3

Body Wash

Another off-brand beauty product that you are safe to buy is body wash. If you have highly sensitive skin you’d want to do some investigating before you just pick up any old body wash but with most beauty products if a certain technology isn’t patented, any company can make a copy of a brand name product for a smaller price!

4

Cotton Swabs & Pads

An obvious generic beauty product that you want to get is cotton swabs and pads. Most generic brands of cotton are exactly the same as the brand name type at almost half the cost! Never pay full price for these little guys since you they’re only for one-time use and mainly used to take off or clean up makeup.

5

Facial Cleanser

Facial cleansers are off-brand beauty products that are often just as good as any cleanser you can get at any other beauty store. As previously mentioned, if a certain company makes a great formula but doesn’t patent it, you bet your arse that another company will replicate it and make it available at drug stores for cheap!

To give oneself earnestly to the duties due to men, and, while respecting spiritual beings, to keep aloof from them, may be called wisdom.

Body Lotion

Lotion is one of the many off-brand beauty products that I like to buy. Sure, I love my Bath & Body Works scents but I like plain old lotion without all the frills too. Generic body lotion usually contains the moisturizing basics without a strong scent that could irritate skin so I like to use it on more sensitive areas like my legs and bikini line after I shave.

7

Nail Polish Remover

This is one of the generic beauty products to buy but you don’t want to go too cheap. Allow me to explain, buying a drugstore brand nail polish remover is fine but don’t go as far to get it at the dollar store! When you buy too cheap, the quality is horrible and you really get what you pay for. I’ve made the mistake before when I was out of town and boy did my nails pay for it!

Keep the 7 generic beauty products in mind the next time you need to stock up on beauty essentials! Although off-brand products aren’t always as good as the brand name, there are plenty of products that perform just as well if not better! What are some of your favorite generic beauty products?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I wouldn't recommend buying generic body wash. There really IS a difference. I love Dove's Nutrium Moisture line. Nothing works better and makes my skin softer. At least nothing that you can buy at HEB, Walmart, etc...

I find that buying generic cotton balls, and nail care supllies work better for me. the cotton balls are super absorbent and soft, and the tools and nail care are cheap and work great.

Those are great tips!! I already buy generic nail polish remover and make up remover too -- as long as they do what they're meant to do, i'm fine with it :)

Yes generic is ok but the Microdermabrasion from MaryKay is OUT IF THIS WORLD! And very affordable compared to other brand name products. I promise it's awesome!

I would not buy body lotion generic. Especially when you put it all over your body and it's soaking into your skin... You don't want all those harsh chemicals.
