7 Best Budget Beauty Buys ...

It’s hard being beautiful in a recession... facials, manicures, waxing, highlights, threading, eyelash extensions... it’s an endless and expensive list! As a make-up artist I come across tons of different products that claim to do a multitude of jobs but nothing makes me happier than finding a fantastic beauty product that’s also cheap and natural. These are my best budget beauty buys that everyone should know about.

Sudocrem

The world’s favourite nappy rash cream is also one of the best budget beauty buys everyone should have at home. It’s amazing at clearing up spots over night and just as great on ingrowing hairs and sunburn.

2

Baby Oil

Another baby staple! Baby oil is a fantastic eye make-up remover and gentle enough not to cause wrinkles. It’s also excellent for shaving legs, as a body moisturiser and of course — a massage oil!

3

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

This one is possibly the best budget beauty buy tip I have and definitely the best and cheapest body lotion you can buy. It doesn’t have to be the posh organic kind and no, you won't smell like a salad, trust me — it’s great! You can also apply a little around your eyes before bed as an excellent wrinkle treatment. It also works as a fantastic hair treatment if left on over night.

4

Almond Oil

One of the best, and very cheap, deep conditioning hair treatments you can buy. Apply to wet or dry hair, leave in anywhere from 20 minutes to overnight and wash hair for incredibly soft and shiny hair that cost only a few dollars!

5

Caster Oil

Sparse eyebrows? Spending fortunes on eyebrow serums or even tattoos? Rub this $2 drug store oil over your brows with a cotton bud before bed and watch them grow back to life within a few weeks – definitely one of my best budget beauty buys! It also works just as great along the eyelash base for fuller lashes.

Famous Quotes

Men in general judge more from appearances than from reality. All men have eyes, but few have the gift of penetration.

White Vinegar

This stuff is fantastic, no more spending fortunes on gels and acrylics because your nails won't grow. Soak your nails in white vinegar for 10 minutes once or twice a week and they will immediately harden and grow into the nails you always dreamt of having... it’s nail magic!

Water

I’ve saved the best for last as you can’t get a better budget beauty buy than free! It’s proven fact that drinking 2 litres of H2O a day will give you more glowing skin than you’d get from any $300 Creme de La Mer cream and that’s the best budget beauty tip anyone can give!

I love sharing a good beauty tip that works, even if better if it’s cheap, and these are all trusted beauty buys that I use and swear by. Has anyone had any success with any of these tips? Or do you have any budget beauty tips of your own to share?

Yes! I have baby oil, olive oil and castor oil (and water, of course). I put olive oil and castor oil (and carrot oil) in my hair all the time.
