1

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize

First, a caveat: only moisturize after you shave. It's a common misconception that putting on lotion beforehand will help your legs say smooth, but that actually clogs the pores on your legs, so you don't even reach all the hair, no matter what smoothing technique you use. However, a key aspect of learning how to keep legs smooth for a longer amount of time is moisturizing after you get out of the shower or bath. That will help keep stubble from popping up.

2

Try Waxing

I know waxing hurts, I know it. But sometimes, getting smooth legs is painful! Really, though, waxing gets rid of the hair for a longer amount of time. That's because you're getting rid of the roots of the hairs on your leg, rather than just shaving them off at the shaft. You can do it on your own, with an at home kit, or get it done professionally. If you're doing it on your own, though, be careful, and follow the directions very, very closely. Seriously, I speak from experience!

UPD:

Waxing is a great way to keep your legs smooth and hair-free for a long period of time. Waxing involves applying a hot wax to the skin and then using a cloth strip to remove the wax and the hair from the follicle. The waxing process can be done at home, or you can visit a professional waxing salon.

When waxing at home, it is important to follow the instructions carefully, as waxing can be a tricky and painful process. It is also important to use the right type of wax for your skin, as different types of wax can cause skin irritation. It is recommended to use a wax that is specifically formulated for sensitive skin, as this will reduce the risk of irritation.

Waxing can be more expensive than shaving, but it is a longer-lasting solution. The effects of waxing can last up to six weeks, depending on the individual’s hair growth rate. Regular waxing can also help to reduce the amount of hair that grows back, making it easier to manage over time.

3

Shave Properly

If you do elect to shave instead, just make sure you do it right. There is a proper technique, and following it will make your legs stay baby soft for longer. It's important that you always use a specially formulated shaving product, whether it's a gel, a cream, or a shaving lotion, rather than body soap. Move your razor upwards from your ankles to your knees and, if need to, go both toward and against the grain – it depends on how your hair grows. Also, go slow and steady, so you reduce the risk of those nasty cuts. For that matter, don't overuse your razor, don't let it get dull – that's unsanitary, it can lead to more cuts, and you won't get a close shave.

4

No Hot Water

One of the best tips on how to keep your legs smooth involves paying attention to your water temperature. It may seem like shaving in really hot water is the best option, but it's really not, because hot water dries out your skin. When you do that, your legs don't get the moisture they need, so stubble is pretty much a given. You don't have to shave in super cold water, because that's bad for a different reason – you'll keep getting cold chills even as you shave. Lukewarm water is the perfect medium, and you'll definitely notice a difference.

5

Use Olive Oil

In line with moisturizing after you shave, this is one of the best techniques for smooth legs I've ever come across – and used! Any of y'all familiar with my posts know that I love olive oil, not just because it's great to cook with but also because it's so handy in so many other areas. For instance, after you've shaved them, massage your legs with it at night, before going to bed. Make sure your skin has thoroughly absorbed it, then just rinse it off in the shower. It will keep your legs smooth for such a long time!

Exfoliate Your Legs

The skin on your legs needs exfoliated just like the skin on your face. Getting rid of dead, drive skin cells allows you to get more of the hair follicle, no matter how you choose to eliminate hair. A nice salt or sugar scrub will do, or the apricot scrub from St. Ives, which is my favorite store-bought scrub.

7

Blast It

There are, of course, many different ways to remove hair from your legs. So far, I've only talked about shaving and waxing, but if you're interested in how to keep legs smooth longer, you may want to try laser treatments, or depilatory creams. There are all kinds of little gadgets you can buy as well, such as handheld epilators. I've never tried one myself, so if you have experience, good or bad, please share!

8

Soak Beforehand

Finally, soaking in the tub helps with getting smooth legs. I know it's impossible to do that all the time, but when you can, a good soak in warm water – not too hot! – with an addition like LUSH bath bombs or Calgon will really help. You only have to sit for 15-20 minutes, more if you like, and you'll get a much smoother, closer shave.

There are lots of great tips on how to keep legs smooth, so this spring and summer, you won't have to deal with shaving every single day. I love the warm weather, spending time at the beach, and keeping cool in fun summer styles, but I hate shaving every day – yet, conversely, I hate stubble on my legs! If you feel the same way, these techniques will really make life easier. Plus, you won't have to worry about drying out your skin! Do you have any other tips for getting smooth legs and keeping them smooth?

Ello this is great! <3

great ideas :) thank you

Shaving tip: use conditioner on yours legs instead of soap ect. It really works, your legs stay smooth for about a week, and when the hair grows backs it's soft, not stubble.

I also found another great way to keep your legs smooth. It did take me all afternoon though. But after i finished i couldn't stop touching my legs. 1 1/4 C Sugar 1/2 C Oil 3 tablespoons Citrus 1-2 Razors Mix everything together in a bowl. Soak your legs in the tub for 5 minutes. Shave your legs. Rub some of this mixture all over your legs. The sugar will help rub off all dirt and dead skin. Rub, rub. Feels like a mini massage. Rinse it all off, shave again. I would use one razor per leg if you have two. You will be rinsing this razor a lot. Rub your legs again! Second coat of wax, oh yeah. Rinse off! You can use a mild soap to help get some of the oil off. Lotion your legs up, and feel the silkiness!

One thing I WOULDN'T do is use wax strips that you warm up with your hands. I followed the directions perfectly, and it didn't get all the hair off. It just tore it from the shaft instead of the root and then you get super irritated skin, my legs looked like they had hives for a week. Thank goodness for Aloe!

I use an epilator on my legs, hands and underarms. They stay smooth for a long time and because I exfoliate I don't get ingrown hair either. But the downside is the pain. It HURTS!

I LOVE my epilator! I do my legs once a week and they are always baby smooth. I've been using it for a few years now, so the hair that grows is so fine and mostly blonde now so you can barely see it anyway. Even at once a week, there are only a few hairs here and there to pull out.
