If you've ever experienced your friends - or even parents - make a comment about the way you look (i.e. "you would look so much better if you did this or that"), you'll probably know how self-conscious it can make you feel; it's not a nice feeling when others make you think twice about your own appearance. You might even feel a sense of pressure to take their advice on board and change the way you look to please them. On top of that, if you're in your pre-teen years there's a fair chance that makeup may not be an option for you to try. But did you know that there's plenty of ways you can feel just as amazing and full of self-confidence without any makeup at all?

1. Be Clean and Hygienic
Being clean is all about being fresh and looking your best. If you’re clean, chances are you’ll look great and feel even better. Take a shower once a day, preferably in the morning. The shower will wake you up, and there’s a chance your body could sweat in the night. NOTE: If you have brothers or sisters who take showers in the morning, and there is only one shower, take a shower before you go to bed. If it’s hot out, don’t sleep with the covers, and sleep with the sheets instead! Wash your hair every other day. This will make it easier for your hair to retain moisture and will make it easier to manage. But the best thing to do if it’s oily is to wash it every day. Find shampoos and conditioners that suit your hair, not just the nicest smelling ones. No frizz, shine, smooth, manageable, thickener, straighter, moisture-enhancer, and dandruff are just a few different types. Don’t use too much of any product. Too much gel or mousse can result in a really bad hair day!
