7 Products That Are Great Alternatives to Shaving Cream ...

Jasmine Feb 3, 2015

Have you run out of your bottle of Skintimate shaving gel? Maybe you're on a budget and decided that this time you want to find alternatives to shaving cream? Well, there are several other options out there if you're open to stepping out of your comfort zone. You may be surprised to find that some of the greatest alternatives to shaving cream just so happen to be foods you eat!

1. Hair Conditioner

Hair conditioner is one of the best alternatives to shaving cream because it softens any hair located on the body. At the same time, it also helps to hydrate your skin. The slickness and smoothness you get from conditioning products will make it much easier to shave any stubborn hair. Instead of using your expensive conditioner, purchase any low-budget alternative that will work just the same.

2. Body Lotion

Like hair conditioner, body lotion is a great substitute for any shaving foams. Most lotions leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized. Rub it on your legs prior to shaving all your hair off. You may just find that this method leaves your skin feeling absolutely silky-smooth.

3. An Oil

Certain oils are great for shaving, including coconut oil, sweet almond oil, apricot oil, or baby oil. Coconut oil is a great anti-fungal and antibacterial component for razor burns and cuts. Sweet almond oil is perfect for massages, so why not for shaving? Since it's found in numerous soaps and creams, apricot oil will get the job done. Lastly, baby oil has a scent we all can't resist, but it also leaves the skin lubricated to avoid any sudden razor cuts.

4. Aloe Vera Gel

If you want your skin to feel glossy while shaving, aloe vera gel would be your best bet. Not only does the aloe plant help to heal skin irritations, it also cools the skin naturally. This shaving gel alternative may not leave your legs or armpits feeling smooth, but it will make the shaving process more manageable.

If you're in the relentless hunt for the perfect mascara, that not only volumizes but also gives your lashes the much-needed lift, then you should absolutely give the dior show mascara a try. It's undeniably one of the best mascaras that guarantees both length and volume while leaving no clumps behind.

5. Honey

This natural humectant can be used as an alternative form of shaving cream because it is already a natural conditioner filled with antibacterial properties. The great thing about honey is that it's already thick, so you will have the extra protection as you scrape away unwanted hair. With a little water, honey comes off really easily without leaving any sticky residue.

6. Peanut Butter

Yet another sticky replacement for shaving creams is peanut butter. Yea, I know it sounds smelly, but according to the things I've read, it works. Mix peanut butter with a little bit of honey if the paste is too thick to apply. If you wash will a little soap afterwards, you won't have to worry about it leaving behind its delicious scent.

7. Soap

Speaking of soap, why not use it as a substitute? Like shaving creams, most soap has a bubbly effect when applied to the skin. This creates an extra barrier around the hairy area you're removing. Soap foam also provides slip-assistance making it easier for shaving.

See! Just when you thought your life was over and you’d have to leave the house looking like Chewbacca, now you know what other products to use in place of manufactured shaving cream. What are other substitutes that you have tried before? Are you willing to give any of these a try?
