Every year, there are many, many new toothpastes on the market. How are you supposed to choose the best toothpaste? Most are effective but there are a few general guidelines to follow.

Flouride is the main ingredient in the best toothpastes.
Look for the American Dental Association seal. The seal shows that the toothpaste passed all of the toothpaste trials.
You should brush your teeth at least twice each day.
If using a baking soda based toothpaste, do not use as often as is too abrasive.
Again, you only need flouride and the ADA seal for twice a day usage for that gorgeous smile!
