No matter your age, all women should know some tips to get rid of puffy eyes. They can strike at any age at any time. Puffy eyes are never something you want to wake up to right? I hate it when that happens! You don’t have to suffer through the problem though because there are lots of great ways to deal with puffy eyes once and for all. Once you give them a try, you are going to love how much better mornings are. Mix and match the different ideas to find what works best for you. Let me know how it all works out!
This is my favorite method because it’s easy and won’t cost you anything to do. When you get up, pop a couple of spoons in to the freezer. Let them chill for a couple of minutes, then gently press the spoons to the puffy areas for about two minutes. The cold will help reduce the puffiness in no time.
It might sound weird, but hot water also works on puffy eyes when it’s mixed with salt. The salt helps draw out the fluid that causes puffy eyes. If you prefer warmth in the morning over cold, this is really easy. Combine a ¼ teaspoon salt with 2 cups hot water. Soak cotton balls in the mixture and press them to your eyes. Lie down and let them work for about 10 minutes.
Got a couple of cold strawberries in the fridge? You’re in luck because they contain a natural form of alpha hydroxy acid, which helps smooth skin and reduce puffiness. Cut a large strawberry in half and press the cut sides to your puffy eyes. Leave them there for several minutes, then rinse the residual off your face.
If you drink tea in the morning, don’t toss those tea bags in the trash. Save them for your puffy eyes. Lie down and press a tea bag to the puffy area. Stay still and let them do their magic or about 15 minutes. You can safely do this a couple of times per day to keep puffiness at bay.
Aloe vera gel is well known for being soothing and easy to use. It’s also great for reducing swelling and puffiness. Use a small dab of the gel under both eyes, using caution not to get it into your eyes. The gel feels good going on and will have you looking unpuffy in no time.
This classic trick is one you can never go wrong with. Grab a cucumber from the fridge and cut off a couple of thick slices. Lie down somewhere comfortable and lay the slices over your eyes. Leave them in place until they stop being cold. Repeat as necessary.
Don’t have any cucumbers? Raw potato slices work just as well. Cut the potato into thick slices and then chill them for several minutes. Lay the slices over your eyes and rest until they aren’t chilled anymore. You can do this as many times as it takes to get rid of the puffiness.
Have you ever tried any of these techniques? What other ways do you fight puffy eyes?
