Beauty isn't everything, even though we all wish we looked a certain way. While it's natural to want a body or face that's shaped differently, you have to remember that your appearance isn't all you should be concerned about. There are far more important things in life, even if it doesn't feel like it. To prove it, here are a few things you should focus on instead of beauty:

1. Your Grades
If you're in high school, you need to study as much as you can so you can get accepted into a good college. If you're in college, you need to study as much as you can so you can graduate and get a good job. While you shouldn't kill yourself trying to get an A, you should make sure you set time aside to study. If you're with your friends 24/7, then something's wrong.
2. Your Career
If you have a job, you should be working on getting a promotion. If you don't see yourself at that job for the rest of your life, then you should be working on trying to get a job that you actually will have forever. Maybe that means you should be researching, maybe it means you should be working on your resume, or maybe it means you should be sending out applications. Figure out what you need to do and go for it, girl!
Frequently asked questions
3. Your Relationship
Once you've been in a relationship for a while, it's easy to neglect your partner. You won't see them as much because you have plenty of other things to do. However, you need to rearrange your schedule so you get enough alone time with them. If you don't, then it could harm your relationship beyond repair.
4. Your Family
When was the last time you called your grandmother? When's the last time you sat down with your father and just talked about your life? If you've drifted from your family, take the time to try to reconnect with them. You don't have to make any grand gestures. Just make a phone call.
5. Your Goals
Everyone has a different set of goals. It's time to think about yours and ask yourself if you're doing enough to fulfill them. If not, then you should work to change that until you're satisfied. You won't be fully happy until you get where you want to be in life--or at least until you make an attempt to get there.
6. Your Happiness
Speaking of happiness, you should work on making yourself content with your life. Maybe there's someone toxic that you talk to and you need to get them out of your life. Maybe you hate your house and need to move to a new place. Whatever the case may be, try to do whatever will make you the happiest.
7. Your Health
Your health should always be your number one priority. If anything else on this list, like your relationship or your grades, is getting in the way of your mental or physical health, then you need to make a change. Your health comes first.
We all want to be beautiful, but we can't become so obsessed with the idea that we forget about all the other important aspects of life. What are you the most focused on at this point in your life (besides beauty, of course)?
