Summertime Beauty Hacks for the Streets or the Beach ...

By Eliza

Summer is definitely my favorite time of the year. The days are longer and lazier and you can enjoy nights on the patio and mornings at the beach (when you’re not at work, that is). Despite its awesomeness, summer also brings its fair share of beauty woes. Luckily, I’ve collected some of the easiest and the best hacks that you can use all summer long. Here’s to an entire season of looking hot without looking melted.

1. Stash a Bottle of Setting Spray in Your Bag and Take It Everywhere You Go

Setting spray is going to be your best friend this summer. It works by lessening the effects of melted make-up. When the temperature heats up, it can be hard to keep your look in place. Gently spritzing it with your setting spray can really help. Take it with you everywhere so you can spritz again if you need to.

2. Grab Some Baking Soda if You Got Crazy with the Self Tanner

I have definitely done this myself a time or two. Whether you’re tanning for a healthy glow at the beach or for your days around the town, a self-tan is much safer than one you get from the sun. That doesn’t mean you won’t make a mistake here and there. When you do, exfoliate the area with a mixture of baking soda and water. You should notice the mistake going away in no time.

3. Add an Extra Toothbrush to Your Medicine Cabinet and Use It on Your Hair

Did you know that a toothbrush is a fabulous tool for taming those nasty flyaways that plague you when the heat and humidity ramp up in the summertime? All you have to do is spritz a bit of hairspray on the brush, then use it to gently brush hair back into place. This is a great tool to keep your arsenal, no matter where you spend your summer.

4. Use a Dryer Sheet to Get Rid of Deodorant Marks on Your Clothes

It never fails – you slide into that hot black tank top or tankini and now you’re stuck with white deodorant marks. What’s a girl to do? Go in the laundry room and grab a dryer sheet. Gently rub the mark with the dryer sheet and watch it disappear right in front of your eyes.

If you're in the relentless hunt for the perfect mascara, that not only volumizes but also gives your lashes the much-needed lift, then you should absolutely give the dior show mascara a try. It's undeniably one of the best mascaras that guarantees both length and volume while leaving no clumps behind.

5. Avoid Sweat Stains by Putting Panty Liners in Your Armpits

I know this sounds weird, but it’s a tip that can really save the day when things heat up outside. It’s great for when you wear a sleeved top, but don’t want wet armpits. Peel the backing off a thin panty liner and press it gently into the armpit of the shirt. The panty liner will soak up the sweat without being visible. If it gets too wet, simply remove and replace.

6. Skip the Salon and Exfoliate Your Feet with a Potato and Sea Salt

You want summer sandal feet, but you don’t have the money for a professional manicure? I don’t either. Here’s a hack you are going to love. Simply cut a potato in half, wet it, then dip it in sea salt. Scrub your feet with it and you’ll have smooth, crack free feet that will look perfect in any pair of sandals.

7. Bring Leave in Conditioner to the Beach or Pool

Whether you’re spending time in the salty ocean or the chlorine infused swimming pool, chances are your hair is going to be tangled when you get out. Carry a bottle of leave in conditioner with you and your problem is solved. Simply rub it through your strands, then comb your hair and you’re all set.

Which of these hacks is going to save your life this summer? Do you have any others to add to the list?

#5?!?! Are you serious?!?!

Good tips! But I don't think I would ever put panty liners in my armpits...?

Rose water mixed with lavender essential oil is good for spritz in and very refreshing.

Great tips. Thank you!
