Congratulations on the arrival of your new little bundle of joy! Now that you have your baby home from the hospital, you’ve probably already figured out that your looks sort of take a back burner to caring for a newborn. 1. Stash a White Eyeliner Pencil in Your Makeup Bag

You will be totally amazed at how wonderful a white eyeliner pencil can make you look, even if you only slept for an hour last night. Use it to line the inner corner of your eye. By filling in this area with a bright white color you can fake a wide awake look with ease. The shimmer of the white liner will detract from dark circles by brightening up your entire face.

2. Brush Your Brows for Instant Polish

Wayward brow hairs never look good, but combing them into place only takes a couple of seconds and can instantly open up your eyes and make you look gorgeous. Use a brow comb and a bit of brow gel to get your hairs in place. If needed, fill them in with a brow pencil or powder to fill them out and make you the best looking mommy on the block.

3. Stock Your Beauty Cache with Double Duty Products

Now that you’re a mom, you are probably pretty short on time so it pays to have products that do two jobs instead of just one. Think shampoo and conditioner combinations and creamy cosmetics that can add color to eyes and cheeks in one palette. By using double duty products, you can drastically cut the amount of time you spend in the bathroom on your beauty routine.

4. Use Concealer Wisely

Concealer can cover up a myriad of facial issues and give you the new mom confidence you need to get out into the world, whether you want to or you have to. Use it on the outer corners of your eyes, along your nose and at the edges of your mouth. Concealer in these places works to brighten parts of your face that tend to show your fatigue and make you look awake, no matter how many times Junior woke you up last night.

If you're in the relentless hunt for the perfect mascara, that not only volumizes but also gives your lashes the much-needed lift, then you should absolutely give the dior show mascara a try. It's undeniably one of the best mascaras that guarantees both length and volume while leaving no clumps behind.

5. Create Some Waves While You Sleep

Being a new mom often means the dreaded ponytail. Every single day. Trust me – my youngest is 7 and that’s all I can manage most days. You aren’t doomed though. Before you go to bed, braid damp hair into several sections. When you get up in the morning, take the braids out and finger comb your strands. There! Perfect waves without any effort.

6. Wear Mascara Even if You Wear Nothing else

Even if you can’t find time to put on a full face of makeup, don’t skip the mascara. A double coat of black or dark brown gives you a polished look that will carry you through the entire day. And it’s so easy!

7. Let the Pros Handle It

Still running out of time to pay attention to your beauty. Make naptime work for you by scheduling a nail or hair appointment while your baby takes a snooze. Sure, there will come a time when napping at home is a priority, but by then you should be back in the groove of your own style. For now, let the pros take care of things for you.

Are you a new mom or an old pro? What other advice can you share?

I swear by a cheek/lip stain by an Australian brand called Designer Brands. It's perfect for us mums who are too pale for bronzer but, still need to add colour to our faces... :)
