Head to the Drug Store

One of the best ways to find the best beauty deals is by searching for drug store alternatives. Believe it or not, brands like Maybelline and Revlon offer products that are highly competitive with top-of-the-line make-up. One of my favorite drug store alternatives is Revlon Color Stay in place of Makeup Forever’s HD foundation. Another great alternative is ELF’s Pink Passion instead of Bobbi Brown’s infamous Pale Pink blush. I’m completely serious when I say that it is extremely difficult to find the difference between these products, not to mention they’re more than half the price of the expensive brands - ELF’s blush is a whopping $3!

Monthly Beauty Box Subscriptions

I’ve recently come across companies like Glossybox and Birchbox, who put together samples of expensive products that ship to your home once a month. It’s a great and inexpensive way to try out some of those products you were nervous to invest money in the full-size version of. It’s also exciting to have new surprise products right at your doorstep each month and trying out something you may have never thought to try before!

3

Discount Products at Department Stores

I’m such a huge fan of stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall’s, who get designer products that are either out of season or surplus at sale prices. Lucky for us beauty product fans, shampoos and styling products don’t really go out of season, so stop in your nearest TJ’s and get that salon shampoo for a total steal.

Become a Member

If you’re like me, then a visit to Ulta and Sephora is like walking through the gates of Heaven. A great way to save money at these stores is to sign up as a member and get one of those handy rewards cards. When used during each purchase, you can start earning points which will help you get discounts and great deals later on. Ulta also mails out fantastic coupons that have saved me tons of money on products I may have otherwise passed by because of their price tags.

Just choose what type of product you’re looking to try, and follow the steps to receive a sample. Oh, did I mention it’s completely free?

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Try out Kits and Sets

I’m completely obsessed with buying kits and sample sets of expensive brands. For example, Benefit has killer sample sets that let you try out some of their most beloved products at an incredible cost. Kits are also such a great way to try out a ton of different colors and shades of eye shadow and lip products for a deal. NYX has a great palette that I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on!

Groupon: the New Kind of Coupon

If you haven’t registered for Groupon yet, I highly recommend it. Unfortunately the site only caters to major cities, so if you live in a small town it may be difficult to find deals that apply to your area. However, if Groupon does offer deals near you, it is a great way to save money on beauty services like massages, facials, and haircuts. Want to try that hip salon in your neighborhood but don’t have the funds to pay for it? By signing up for Groupon, you can have those professionally-styled locks for half the price!

Looking your best shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg. By following these 7 steps, you can fake it ‘til you make it with some designer brands for a fraction of the cost. Do you have any tips or secrets to finding some great beauty deals?

In Australia we have bellabox like birchbox and glossybox

I agree with Ine Van Tuijl. I am now friends with the SA for SK II in Chicago and she gave me tons of freebies whenever i order from her. :)

Become friends with the ladies in the stores where you buy your cosmetics, so: 1. it is nice to shop and have a chat and laugh, and 2. get more free samples. For me, in a rather small town in the Netherlands, this works.
