Beauty Routine is a phrase that can be quite scary. However, having a good beauty routine is one way of streamlining your daily beauty habits. A good beauty routine can also have a great impact on your personal health. From regulary cleaning your makeup brushes to a weekly pamper session, a beauty routine can take many forms.Take a look at a few beauty routines to get into.
1. Cleanse and Moisturise
If you haven’t already, get into the habit of cleansing and moisturising your skin morning and night. Cleansers help remove makeup, oil, and dead skin cells. The purpose of a moisturiser is to prevent and treat dry skin. There are a range of cleansers and moisturisers available to suit all skin types.
2. Cleaning Your Tools
Your makeup brushes and tools can be the ideal environment for bacteria to grow. To ensure that your makeup weapons of choice are always in prime condition, get into the beauty routine of cleaning them regularly. Clean your makeup brushes on a weekly basis using a mild detergent.
3. Removing All Makeup
It’s something we hear all the time, but removing all traces of makeup before going to sleep is an important part of any beauty routine. Not only will your skin be better for it, but so will your sheets and bedding.
4. Culling Your Collection
Makeup has an expiration date, so it’s important to regularly go through your collection and throw out any expired items. From the date you open them, powders and shadows generally last for about two years, foundation and lipsticks for about a year, and mascara and eyeliners for a couple of months.
5. Wearing Sunscreen
This is an important beauty routine to take note of. Before you leave the house in the morning, make sure you’ve applied sunscreen. Either apply sunscreen before your makeup, or use an SPF moisturiser or foundation. Skin can still get burnt, even on cloudy days, so preventative measures are key to protecting your skin from sun damage.
Take the time out to pamper yourself once a week or once every few weeks if you’re short on time. Book in for salon treatment to really treat yourself, or improvise with at-home treatments. Pampering yourself with a massage, facial, or manicure is a great way to reward yourself and re-energise your body.
One of the best beauty routines you can get into is getting a solid night’s sleep. On average, adults should try to get 7-9 hours sleep each night and teens should aim for about 8-10 hours sleep. Try getting into a routine of going to sleep and waking up at the same time everyday.
8. Eating Healthily
The key to looking and feeling good is to start from the inside. Your body needs certain dietary requirements, and if these are not met then you’ll just be feeling and looking worse for it. Eating a healthy diet and excercising regularly is a seriously important part of any beauty routine.
A beauty routine should not be daunting. Once you get into the habit of a good beauty routine, you’ll hardly notice that you’re exerting any extra effort. What other beauty routines can you think of?
