8 Easy Ways to Shorten Your Morning Beauty Routine ...

I’m not a morning person, so I’m always looking for ways to shorten my morning beauty routine! I don’t want to skimp on anything, since looking nice is a priority, but I’ve found a few successful ways to trim my morning beauty routine down to size so that I can still leave on time looking great! Keep on reading to learn my beauty secrets for shortening my morning beauty routine!

1 Shower the Night before

This is probably the easiest way to shorten your morning beauty routine. When possible, try to shower the night before. Showering can take up to an extra 20-30 minutes out of your morning, depending on how quickly you can get in and out. Besides, then you have soaking wet hair to fix!

Frequently asked questions

2 Do Simple Makeup

I’m an advocate for natural looks anyways, but keeping your look simple and natural in the mornings really saves you some time! You can take makeup with you to touch up throughout the day or add extra makeup for a more dramatic evening look if you like. Aiming for a natural look in the morning saves you quite a bit of time blending and trying to be precise, as you would need to do with darker colors.

3 Prep at Night

Something I always try to do when I know I have an early morning is to prep as much as possible the night before. I choose my outfit, and lay it out complete with shoes and accessories. I also try to make sure the makeup and hair items I will need are all within easy reach. It’s easy to waste time in the mornings looking for a lost shoe or a misplaced concealer brush!

4 No Fail Hairstyle

We all have that one “no-fail” hairstyle we default to when our hair isn’t working right. For me, it’s generally a messy bun or a ponytail! If your hair isn’t cooperating, and you have to resort to something similar, here’s something to try! Keep a stash of ribbons, headbands, scarves, or pins on hand. You can grab one to easily glam up your ponytail or bun and distract from your “bad” hair day!

5 60 Second Face

On mornings that I am especially cramped for time, I try not to completely skip wearing my makeup. Natural is beautiful of course, but I have dark under eye circles and pale skin that can look drab in the mornings. Instead, I wear my 60-second face! A quick dab of concealer under the eyes, a quick swipe of bronzer or blusher on my cheeks and eyelids, a dash of mascara, and a dab of lip-gloss is all it takes to give your face a quick wake up!

6 Let Your Hair Dry Naturally

On those mornings when it is necessary to shower when you get up, one thing that you can do to save time is to let your hair air-dry! While your hair is drying, you can get dressed, do your makeup, eat breakfast, and brush your teeth. If your hair is still a bit damp by the time you need to style, you can either throw it into a braid or a bun, or scrunch some mousse or gel into it. Finish drying your hair with a blow dryer if you have the time!

7 Invest in Good Products

One thing I would like to point out that has saved me money on my morning routines is the use of good products. Cheap products such as makeup, hairspray, and deodorant don’t do their jobs efficiently. This leaves you either adding more product, or desperately trying to make it work as you run out the door with streaked mascara or flyaway hairs.

8 Grab Dry Shampoo

Perhaps my very best kept secret for keeping my morning beauty routine shortened is dry shampoo! Dry shampoo will soak up greasy roots on those days you just don’t have time to wash your hair, but it can also come to the rescue of a bad hair day! Dry shampoo adds volume and texture, so if your hair isn’t working with you, you can coerce it into behaving with a little dry shampoo sprayed into your roots!

As you can see, there are a few simple things you can do that will really help shorten your morning beauty routine! Mornings are hectic enough without adding extra stress into the mix, so make it easy on yourself and take advantage of these ways to shorten your morning beauty routines. Do you have any tried-and-true tips to help you speed up the process of getting ready in the mornings?
